Cloudflare Migration - In-store API

As a part of Zip ongoing enhancements, we will be migrating our loadbalancer services. This is a backend change that should not impact services.

Whats changing?

The Zip in-store API will be cut over from AWS Loadbalancer to Cloudflare edge.

Key dates to remember:

Full Implementation: By Monday 17th Feb 2025, this cutover will be done mid morning after initial monitoring.

Next steps:

Assess your integration post this date to determine if any issues have arisen for your solution. While there is no expected impact from this change, below are some key considerations to keep in mind should any issue arise.

  • SSL Certificate: The Zip SSL certificate will change to one issued by Google, so your application will need to trust Google Trust Services certificate authority. This is widely supported CA, and we did not experience any issues using this in Sandbox or in Production for the same changes to our web API. Current certificate is issued by AWS.
  • Cloureflare Edge IP addresses: Zip public IP addresses will change from AWS ELB (currently not static) to Cloudflare Edge
  • SNI support: Your application will need to support SNI (i.e. send Host header with a valid domain name)
